Margaret Ann Samani, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, in her home with her children by her side. Margaret was born in Geneva NE, on December 16, 1935 and was raised by her parents, Eric and Margaret (Pangle) Johnson.
Margaret went to the University of NE Lincoln where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree. Margaret was a speech therapist at the Dr. J.P. Lord’s School in Omaha NE.
During Margaret’s time at UNL, she met her husband of 61 years, Dr. Reuben Samani. Margaret and Reuben were married on August 9, 1954 while they both were attending UNL. They later moved to Sioux Center Iowa, where Reuben established a medical practice and they raised their family there.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Dr. David (Lynette) Samani of Lincoln, their children Shea (Connor) Smith, and their daughter Harper, Ben Samani, Bryan (Tyler) Samani-Sprunk, Bree Samani. Dr. Daniel Samani of Falls City, NE and his daughter Ava Margaret Ann Samani. Dr. John (Miriam) Samani of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and their children Jasmine (fiancé J.T. Felix), Marisa, Alexa, and John Jr.
Her daughter Julie Samani (significant other, Steve VanStralen), her children, Jason Parks (stationed in Okinawa Japan with the Army). Dr. Joseph Parks, Jenny Villegas (significant other, Matthew Wolff), daughters Elayna and Alexandra Villegas and Leona Wolff.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Margaret Johnson and her husband Dr. Reuben Samani.
Margaret’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Wyuka Funeral Home Chapel, 3600 ‘O’ St. Lincoln, NE.
No Visitation. Burial to follow in Wyuka Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Capital Humane Society.
