Mark Deane Striman age 88 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at his home at Legacy Terrace. He was born on July 1, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio to Anthony and Florence (Fortney) Striman. He married Marjorie Stark on February 2, 1942. Mark served in the Army Air Force during World War II in European Theatre. He was a prisoner of war for a few months during the war. Mark worked most of his career as a safety training specialist for Northern Natural Gas, he retired in 1988. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Columbus, Ohio and a member of the VFW and American Legion. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing.
Mark is survived by his daughter and friend, Deana Hunt and Lloyd Owens of San Antonio, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Linda Striman of Lincoln; 2 grandchildren and spouses; 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marjorie on November 25, 2009.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Wyuka Cemetery.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Wyuka Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
I am so sorry to learn of the death of Mr. Mark Striman, a gentle and good man, and a wonderful father and husband. I know that he is at peace and with his wife and loved ones in Heaven.
