Mary Ann Sprague

gold crossMary Ann Sprague age 82, of Lincoln, passed away March 10, 2015.

There will be a Funeral Service at Wyuka Funeral Home in Lincoln, NE. The service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 14, 2015 with burial to follow in wyuka Cemetery. Mary Ann died at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

She was born February, 14th 1933 to Burton and Mary (Rupert) Davis; and attended schools in Mt. Ayr, Iowa  graduating in 1951. She attended Northwest Missouri State University and received her Associates

Degree in music education. Music was her passion as a young women and she performed as a vocalist in numerous competitions and church choirs, often as a soloist.

She married Bob L. Sprague in 1954 in St. Joseph, MO. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1989. Soon after marrying, the couple moved to Lincoln where they continued their educations at the University of Nebraska. Mary Ann and Bob started Sprague Roofing Company on May 1, 1961. She worked at Sprague Roofing as the office manager and bookkeeper until her retirement in 1994.

Mary Ann enjoyed traveling and did so extensively by taking trips throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. She was well versed in the histories of the regions she traveled.

She is survived by son, Gregory M. Sprague, daughter, Marcia Hershiser (Craig Hershiser), grandchildren, Heidi Hayes (Adam Hayes), Laura Rigoni (Brandon Rigoni), Megan Hershiser (Joey Ianno) and Cameron Hershiser, great grandchildren, Noah Hayes and Livia Rigoni.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to The American Lung Association and may be sent in care of Wyuka Funeral Home, Lincoln, NE.

    We are so sorry for you loss. Mary Ann was such a special person, so full of life. She had extream courage, like when she had to keep the “2 boys” from arguing.

    May Gods love give you comfort and help to mend your broken hearts quickly.
