I had the joy of working with her during some of my first years as a teacher. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I can’t help but think of this Maya Angelou quote and how true it is for Michelle, as she brought so much happiness to the world- her memory will continue to bring joy to many.

She was an amazing person. I first met her at bus stop for MBS in 6th grade. Michelle lived down the road, and I was the new kid who had recently moved to Baton Rouge. The changes were rough but Michelle was a big help. Our friendship continued through the years and I was so happy when she went Woodlawn. There her passion for volleyball grew exponentially. She was an amazing spirit and will be deeply missed!
