Mildred L. “Swanee” (Swanson) Splichal age 90 of Trophy Club, Texas, joined her guardian angels on June 23, 2015. She was born on a farm north of Omaha on February 6, 1925. Swanee had a beautiful life with her husband of over 66 years, Bill Splichal. She went to Omaha North High School and after graduation enrolled in nursing school at the Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. Up0n graduation she was a nurse at the Veteran’s Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Soon after WWII ended she met a veteran patient and was married September 3, 1948 to Bill Splichal. Together they raised 5 children who gave them 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A beautiful and wonderful family. Her nursing career covered Nebraska, Illinois and California where they made their homes. Swanee loved to travel, she will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Public visitation will be held on Monday, June 29th from Noon until the service time.
Burial will be at Wyuka Cemetery.
Thinking of your families today as I read of Swannee’s passing. My memories of this most gracious Lady began in the 50’s in Eastridge, followed by the many trips w/State Farm (Vegas, The Broadmoore, overseas with Dad, but not Margie, her hosting Ed & I while in California for my brother David’s wedding where she got me hooked on Mary Kay by giving me my first facial and lastly…hosting me again during a stint @ the Westlake office in ’87!
