Wyuka Funeral Home and Cemetery is seeking a self-motivated, committed, full-time Assistant Cemetery Superintendent.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in cemetery management, landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field.
• Experience in the use of digging and/or heavy equipment preferred.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Requires a relatively high degree of concentration and attention for a continuous period of time.
• Requires occasional standing/walking and frequent lifting or pushing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with others in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to work some holidays.
• Ability to work on-call rotating schedule.

Wage:

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing the overall operations of the cemetery, including maintenance, interments, and landscaping.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of groundskeeping staff, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with funeral home staff to coordinate burial services and ensure all preparations are completed accurately and respectfully.
• Maintain accurate records of interments, plot ownership, and cemetery maintenance.
• Address inquiries and concerns from families and visitors with empathy and professionalism.
• Assist in the development and implementation of cemetery policies and procedures.
• Participate in budget planning and management for cemetery operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Cemetery Superintendent.
