Patrick D. Langan passed away on Thursday, December 3rd in his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was born October 16, 1957 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Billy J. and Nadine A. (James) Langan. Pat worked for the State of Nebraska for many years in environmental quality and economic development. He was semi-retired and worked as a part-time bus driver for Lincoln Public Schools through May of 2020.
Pat valued family, faith and friends, with faith coming first. He was very active in his church, Life Tabernacle in Lincoln. Pat was a compassionate person who enjoyed ministering to others in need. Even when he was a starving college student, he sponsored a child from a Third World country and continued to sponsor her and write to her into adulthood. Pat enjoyed teaching Sunday School and brought much joy and humor with his lessons. He did prison ministry for years and mentored a refugee family. He was always so interested in family history and took the time to put together numerous historical family photo albums. He kept everyone informed regarding family events. He loved family, especially his wife of 29 years and his two daughters Bree and Alecia. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and enjoyed being in nature. He was very witty and had a dry sense of humor that made everybody laugh. Pat was always taking on projects around the house, he built a treehouse and zipline for the girls, he enjoyed working with his hands and designing and building projects himself. Pat would want us to celebrate his life. People remember many Fourth of July’s at his house by Holmes Lake and the epic water fights that ensued. He was a caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife Karen, his daughters Alecia Heaps (Nick) and Breanna Stanley (Bryan), mother, Nadine Langan and siblings; Jamie Conley, Beth Newton (Dave), Scott Langan (Angela), Jody Kreikemeier and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Billy Langan and brother, Timothy Langan.
There will be a small family funeral next week and a celebration of life at a future date.
Memorials to the family for a later designation in care of Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O Street, Lincoln, 68510

We love you Pat! You are a treasure that we keep in our hearts and will always be blessed by. You have brought laughter and relief to many heavy hearts. We will miss you so much! We wish you were here, but I know you have lived with the goal of seeing Jesus and now you have finished your race and are receiving a hug and great big smile from your Father. Goodbye for now, we will see you again.

We loved his humorous nature and caring spirit and, we will be praying for you during his funeral, looking towards celebrating him with you in the future, and continuing to love each of you, dearly. You’ve been so brave. We hope you find peace in beautiful memories. So many fond memories of Bro. Pat in the years gone by – when he first came to First Church and received the Holy Ghost – his dedication to teaching in Sunday School and Bible Studies – the ‘unique’ Christmas performances of his Sunday School class – his hilarious dry humor…
It’s hard to lose the one you love, but there is comfort in knowing that there is a place God is preparing where there is no more pain or sickness for those who live for Him.
My love and prayers are with Sis. Karen and the family
My deepest sympathies to the Langan family. I was lucky to work with Pat and called him my friend. As I unwrapped my Christmas ornaments this year i was reminded of Pat and the ornament that he gave me. Truly a blessed man.
I had the pleasure of working with Pat when he was the State’s Recycling Economic Development Advocate and we served together on the Board of Directors of the Nebraska State Recycling Association. He was a true public servant and he touched many lives. He was quick to smile and had a welcoming heart. He will be missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers

Karen, Alecia, Nick and Bree, and Bryan we are so incredibly sad for you, and everyone who knew Pat. I hold many fond memories growing up playing in that playhouse in your backyard, bbqs and family-friend get togethers. Pat was one of the most generous, kind, loving and funny people I have ever met. He will be greatly missed and forever loved! We are praying the peace and comfort of God over you and the rest of your family in the days to come. We love you BIG!

This is heartbreaking. Sending love and peace to Pat’s family. I learned so much from Pat at DED and we laughed so much. He had the best wit and humor! Rest peacefully my dear friend.
Pat was one of my favorite drivers for LPS. He did his work in a faithful, calm and unassuming way. We talked about his faith and I knew when it came time, God would absolutely greet him with a “well done good and faithful servant! He will be missed by all who knew him!!
Pat had such a fun sense of humor. I enjoyed working with him & serving with him on the MAEDC Board for several years. Blessings and hugs to his family. Rest in peace Pat.
Karen, Alecia, Bree & the entire Langan family…..you have our most sincere condolences. It’s with deep sadness that these words need to be said today.
Pat was just a flat out tremendous individual….we loved that guy!!
He exemplified what living a good and faithful life with God in the heart truly meant. He carried himself with honor and courage.
He left behind a legacy of great works for those who knew him, to relish and cherish….and to build on. He possessed a great gift of affecting people in such a positive manner.
Take comfort in knowing that Pat achieved the ultimate goal, he will live with the Father and walk the streets of gold for all eternity. We all selfishly wish that it wasn’t so soon.
We do agree about one statement though……on July 4th, those were some epic water fights that took place! If you were there, you got soaked……period….no one was safe, lol. Not to mention lighting the arsenal of fireworks when it got dark. Great times for sure!
Pat will most certainly be missed in this world.
