Thomas L. J. Darling

December 10, 1946 – May 23, 2017

Thomas L. J. Darling, 70, of Lincoln, passed away on May 23. He was born in Binghamton, NY, on December 10, 1946 to Lawrence and Margaret Darling, and was the oldest of six children. He graduated from Hamilton College, earned a Ph.D. from Yale University, and had a career as a biochemist in the pharmaceutical industry.

Tom enjoyed being active as an alumnus of Hamilton, had a passion for all things coffee, spun fantastical bedtime stories for his children, and was an avid reader. He is survived by his mother Margaret, his brothers Richard Darling and Christopher Darling, and his sisters Kathleen Darling and Diana Neno. He is also survived by his friend and former wife Joan Darling, his son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Christine Darling, his daughter and son-in-law Alison and Daniel Olig, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother David.
