i met trude in the summer of 1971 when my mother and father built a house on karlee dr not far from her hotel of loved animals,she hired me for a $.25 an hour and i fed,helped train the dogs and mowed her property for several years.i am saddened to hear of the belated news of her passing :( kevin d la page

I am so sorry to hear of Trude’s passing. I would have gone to her funeral had I known before today. She always made me feel so good about our little Gus. She kept his picture hanging in the lobby of the office. And he was always so excited to see her. She greeted him so warmly, as I am sure she did with all her “clients.” She spoke so very highly of her children, especially her son Tommy, as he & my son Jamie are both in law enforcement; mine is the K9 officer in Larimer County, Colorado. You will be very sorely missed, Trude. I don’t know how we will ever find another person who cared so dearly for Gus as you did.

We are so sorry to hear of Trude’s passing. Our pups, too, always looked forward to a stay with Trude. They would have been with Trude this week but we had to try out a new place.Trude will be truly missed. Prayers for all her family in the days ahead.

We always were impressed with the care our pets received with Trude’s special care even hand feeding difficult cases. She will be remembered for her example of devotion matching the love of those she helped. God bless her

When you walk into Trudes you will see a picture on the wall of my husband on his bike with Eddie on the back. Trude thought it was so cute. She was a very wonderful lady. Eddie could hardly sit still when we told him he was going to see Trude. We always knew he was going to be just fine with Trude and Darla and all the rest of the care givers. You are all the best because you worked for the Best Lady ever!!!!!!!

We echo the sentiments of all the other comments. Great lady. She loved our dogs too (little Maltese brothers) because she used to have a pair of the same breed, until she gave them away to someone she knew who needed them more.
We always felt good with them staying at Trude’s. Ironically we were both thinking of her, just this past weekend, when we discussed a pending vacation. We knew our “boys” would have to stay with Trude again.
I asked her once how long she could her Motel going? She said she was going to do it –until she couldn’t. But had no plans on retiring. “Afterall, her babies still needed her!”
She’ll be greatly missed by pets and people alike throughout Lincoln.

My Dad introduced me to Trude years ago. He did the plumbing in her house plus the motel. We were even fortunate enough to have gotten a few “furry family members” from her. Every year I would send Trude a Christmas card with Phoebe on Santa’s lap and then Maya on Santa’s lap. Trude would always send a card telling me to give either Phoebe or Maya a hug from her. Last year Trude even sent me a card from Maya telling me how great of Mom I was! She was a very special lady and she’ll be missed by many.
